Conservative plastic surgery?

I am hopefully going to have a nose-job soon with a doctor in the uk..he's supposed to be really good. However, he is known for being a bit conservative in his operations..I do want a smaller nose and don't want to feel the op has made no difference? How can i be sure that I get what I want....my consultation is soon....please share ur advise?
