Japan/tokyo questions?

I lived in Japan for 7 years, and to answer question 1 is I'm not really sure. I was in the Navy stationed in Yokosuka and Tokyo is HUGE. Question 2 is the yeah they are very racist. I lived with a Japanese girl and her neighbors hated me, this old guy would call me "baka" every morning. We opened up a joint bank account and i couldn't take anything out or make any deposits unless she was there. When we broke up i was out almost $5,000. The Military basically told me that is how it always goes here. The further you go from the big cities the more bias it gets. Some people only see non-Japanese on TV.
